L.A. WORRELL
Arkefi was a concept that pivoted off ARTBANX, the collection management tool. As I was already in-house, I was tasked to create an entirely new product; a blockchain-based art financing platform designed to enable individuals and institutions to fractionally invest in high-value art assets. I was responsible for both the new visual branding (to set us apart from the old product), contributed to the new name and the overall product design, ensuring the platform reflected the innovative vision of Arkefi while remaining user-friendly and intuitive. Due to large team changes, I never got to see the tool fully realised in my vision by the time of my departure, so this is semi conceptual I would say.

The Problem
High-value assets like fine art and luxury items were traditionally inaccessible to regular investors due to their cost and lack of fractional ownership options. At the same time, art collectors and asset owners often struggled to liquidate assets without permanent loss, limiting their financial flexibility.
The Solution
Arkefi was developed as a blockchain-based platform enabling fractional investment in high-value assets, such as Picassos or Ferraris. The platform allowed asset owners to liquidate their assets for half their value and buy them back within a specified timeframe, providing a unique financial tool. Investors benefited from secured returns on these assets, with the blockchain ensuring transparency and security. My contributions focused on designing a seamless user experience that made these innovative financial mechanisms accessible and trustworthy for a wider audience.
